Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Over the course of my apprenticeship I will work in three different legal teams, learning new skills and expanding my legal knowledge. In the Corporate team I worked on contracts and funding agreements, and assisted in larger development plans. In the Commercial Property team I work on residential house sales and associated property work. I also attend Planning Committee Meetings and learn about commercial property developments. When I move into the Litigation Team I expect I will spend time in Court.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
My managers have been extremely supportive in helping me to learn and grow. They have given me cases that they think might be of interest to me and always welcome my thoughts and opinions on the work that we do. My workload is varied, which keeps things fresh, and I am lucky to be able to work in different teams, learning different things in each one.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes, I have learned about buying and selling houses, drafting leases and transfers, researching land ownership, drafting an epitome of title, reviewing contracts, drafting agreements, for advising clients, writing legal letters, and communicating professionally with clients, legal professionals and members of the public.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My programme is well structured. I have meetings with my manager to check on my progress, and also with the head of the legal team, to check how I am getting on and whether I need any support. Over the course of my apprenticeship I will spend time in three different teams. I have worked in Corporate and Commercial Property, and later this year I will move into Litigation. Taking a seat in each of these teams allows me to learn and grow.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My manager and the head of service are both very supportive and helpful. I know I can contact them if I have any problems or issues.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
