Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
As an apprentice, I am studying to be a qualified Trading Standards Officer. On a day to day basis I study, do some admin work, go out and visit shops, search for illicit tobacco / vapes, write legal statements, conduct PACE interviews, learn from peers, carry out jobs within my skill set alone, observe others and participate where I can.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
My job is exciting, no two days are the same. As a mature student the studying is hard work but I have a lot of support from colleagues, peers and family.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Many new skills specifically around legislation, understanding and implementing legislation.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
As a whole the programme is really good, however, there have been instances that have showed a lack of communication and understanding and that has been frustrating. This is within the external training provider.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My employer and colleagues have been amazing!
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
The training provider is amazing with the support. Especially as I lack in confidence as a mature student.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
It helps me with the foundation of my knowledge to be able to do my roll.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
We try to get out as a team sometimes and I am attending two professional events in the next two months.
