Job Description:
As an Audiology Practitioner at Specsavers, I provide patient centred hearing care services while undertaking professional training towards qualification as a Hearing Aid Dispenser through Aston University. My role combines clinical practice, customer service, and ongoing academic studies and training development.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct hearing assessments and initial case history taking.
Support the fitting, programming, and adjustment of hearing aids under supervision.
Deliver patient care, ensuring individuals feel comfortable and informed throughout their hearing journey.
Provide advice on hearing health, hearing aid maintenance, and aftercare services.
Assist with ear examinations and identify cases requiring referral to medical professionals.
Maintain accurate patient records in line with data protection and clinical standards.
Work collaboratively with audiologists and store colleagues to achieve business and clinical targets.
Keep up to date with industry standards, regulations, and best practices through ongoing study at Aston University.

My employer has been very supportive throughout my studies, providing me with the time and opportunities in clinic to develop my practical experience.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My training provider offers consistent and reliable support throughout the programme. Tutors are approachable and the learning resources are well structured. Although it can be challenging at times to balance work commitments alongside study and logging learning outcomes, the support available makes it manageable and helps me continue to develop effectively.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My qualification has significantly improved my ability to perform in my role, as it provides both the theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed to deliver high-quality patient care. The combination of academic learning and clinical application has helped me build confidence and competence in my day-to-day responsibilities.
