Yes, I have improved my technical skills as well as my communication and time management skills.

Very well. Large parts of my course have applied directly to my day job
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
There are some but due to living a considerable distance from the office, I have rarely taken part

Large organisation with lots of opportunities and a great support network for apprentices

Be willing to learn. It doesn't matter if you don't have the skills they are looking for straight away, the main thing is your attitude towards learning
