Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt a vast amount of skills whilst working here. They have taught me everything I know, from management to technical skills such as testing and configuration. I also worked as a business analyst and closely worked with client stakeholders.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Everything is clearly and very well structured. Coming in as a new worker can be daunting but IBM have many resources to help people get settled
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Throughout my 6.5 years working here, I have received so much support and guidance from multiple areas.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I had an assigned manager from the training providers side who guided me throughout my degree. She checked my work and gave me advice. She was always on hand to help.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

With my degree, I feel more confident and knowledgable about management and the different skills I can apply to my job that I had learnt on my degree.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

IBM have the best resource groups for everyone and anyone to join. I had the opportunity to lead one of the resource groups, which gave me another community within the business to turn to. They have socials and events organised by these groups to help people get to know one another.

Why?
IBM have been the core foundation to my career. I started working here at a young age, and they developed and nurtured my skills, they always supported my career progression and growth. The opportunities I have been given by the company have not only helped me grow my skills but also my confidence. I am so grateful that I had the chance to learn and build life long friendships within the company.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to IBM?
The key to IBM is individuality, so be yourself! They love people who are authentic and open to new experiences.
