Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Worked on a range of projects with/for different members of the team. Longer term projects (i.e. deals) were done as part of a team working predominantly alongside analysts to produce marketing materials. Other projects included ad hoc requests from members of the team, such as finding numbers for a chart or making marketing slides. Overall, the role entails a great deal of responsibility from a very early stage.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Lots of responsibility given from a very early stage. Was immediately staffed on two deals and played a large role in creating the marketing materials. Was given client interaction opportunities immediately.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

Greatly improved commercial awareness and knowledge of sector. Also gained technical skills (e.g., powerpoint, excel, etc.). Teamwork, time management, ability to take on responsibility, and ability to learn new things and adapt quickly were also greatly improved.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

Normally, I was sent a task and asked to complete. If needed support, the team was very willing to help and as well as review my work with constructively afterwards.
