Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I work on short pilots in a pre-sales team where I use different IBM technologies for each. My role was focused on automation but since I'm on an apprenticeship I also was flexible on what I could do. I do a lot of front and back end coding but also presenting to people internally and clients.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I had a lot of opportunities to develop my technical skills by working with people with extensive knowledge and always happy to help, as well as this working on soft skills that often don't get practiced as much in school.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I've learnt technical skills such as react js, python, and also creating AI Agents. As well as this I've also devloped soft skills like being able to present to clients

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Very well structured, I have a manager for my work but also a manager who support my univeristy side of things and apprenticeship who I feel comfortable going to

How much support do you receive from your employer?

Lots of support, I always haved training I can do and know I can contact someone if I have any issues

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I have meetings every few months to ensure I'm on the right track and if I have any issues and also get feedback

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Yeah I learn technical and business skills which are both important for a tech company andI can carry through

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

We have team socials, as well as societies ran by early professionals. Plus sports events happening in my team
