Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
During my placement at IBM I had many responsibilities. No day was like the next, but what It involved was to ensure the success of the EMEA Technical sales team within the Ecosystem. This included working with Partners and people in IBM to drive initiatives to grow the Ecosystem and recruit new Partners, creating content for them (websites, enablement videos, surveys, events...). I also worked with Tech Sales teams and sold IBM's technology.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, I was the only intern in my team in EMEA sp they gave me all the responsibility I wanted. I conducted presentations to enable people by myself, worked with other teams outside my departments by myself and looked out for new opportunities without any help.

I have really developed my presentation skills, my coding skills and my English during this placement. I have also developed my intrapersonal and communication skills and managed to act under pressure. I now understand a lot better the IT sector and how these Technologies work.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend IBM to a friend?
Yes
What advice would you give to others applying to IBM
I would suggest having a very defined role, and knowing exactly what they want to achieve during their year. I would say in this big corporations its very important to specialise in order to get a place and be noticed, but if you only want to try different things without going very deep then IBM is perfect for them, but they should not expect to have much responsibility.
