Commercial Insurance Associate Review

Extremely positive! Lockton is a very supportive environment for any young graduate to start a career. I have been given a lot of responsibility and trusted by my peers and line managers to get stuck in, which cultivates an atmosphere for fast learning. That said, there is a lot of support - colleagues in and outside of my teams always make time to answer questions and provide advice. We also have an amazing early careers team that checks in with and advocate for all graduates.

We rotate across broking, client services/consulting and sales teams. Each rotation has allowed me to develop different elements of my skillset:
Broking helped me to understand the technical aspects of insurance, but also how to negotiate and present information to underwriters.
Client services is all about understanding and communication - identifying where we can add value to clients and how to demonstrate that value to them.
Sales is a crossover of all of the skills mentioned above, but also a very commercial role. Its provided me with an understanding of marketing, forecasts, pipleline strategy, sponsorships, bids etc.
I've appreciated all experiences and how they have contributed to my evolving skillset.

Even though I'm still not sure what the future holds for me - I think the range of skills that I have developed, will serve well for a future career

This is subjective - any graduate scheme with a professional training element will require demands outside of 9-5 to complete assignments/ exams etc. We all work hard to get our day job and qualifications done, but I don't think this eliminates the scope to maintain a personal life

Yes

Its a growing business, with lots of opportunities to learn, be challenged and to grow and develop a career

I'd say it's perhaps exceeded my expectations
