Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at Lockton?

Loved it, it's been demanding and full on but in the most positive way.

What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?

I have enjoyed the differences between the roles in my two rotations so far, in terms of the type of work and skills that are required, which makes for an interesting challenge. The social and relationships aspect of the business is one I thoroughly enjoy and thrive in.

To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

I work very hard and do everything I can for my team, but there are of course many aspects which are beyond me at the moment.

How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

We are paid well and I'm extremely grateful for it, however, with how expensive the cost of living is for things such as rent, travel, food, bills, and personal circumstance, it is still something that must be properly budgeted.

How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

My boss in my current team and on the grad scheme have been brilliant, and I couldn't ask for much more from them.

How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

CII workshops, qualifications, and talks put on by people in the business have been a great way to learn.

The support has been brilliant, but it is personal preference in terms of who each person would choose to turn to and depend on.

How is your work-life balance?

I work a lot and spend a lot of time with colleagues/professional acquaintances, as well as spending a lot of time on my studies, however, I have found the social aspect of the job very enjoyable and this has made prioritising work over my personal life easier.

What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

The vast majority of people are very kind, welcoming, and a pleasure to work with and be around.

There are plenty of opportunities and initiatives for everyone across the business.

I love my job and if they fit the type of people I've met and who I consider myself to be, I couldn't think of a better place for someone like me to work.
