Consulting Intern Review

On a day-to-day basis, I was involved in projects from day 1. My main duties throughout the internship was report writing, impact assessments and research work. I was responsible for producing documents that supported outline applications such as HIA and EQIAs as well as undertaking research to support international projects.

I was given a considerable amount of responsibility which involved working between projects therefore, I was always kept busy. The tasks were meaningful to the outcomes of projects and helped me gain greater insight into the industry.

Throughout my internship, I developed my skills in report writing and research. In addition, I learnt more industry specific skills such as producing planning documents, presenting and adapting to the office environment. I was able to gain insight into the strategic planning and socio-economics consulting.

I had a line manager throughout the internship experience who would make sure I had a good amount of work each day. There was also support from the wider team especially when it came to answering questions or queries about projects. Everyone was easily accessible, welcoming and always ready to help.

There is a great company culture here. The team are very relaxed and put on some social events such as office parties and going to the pub to socialise together.

I enjoyed the variety of work given on national and international projects. The team and company culture was welcoming so I was able to talk to them about any help needed.
