Overview of the Role
Overall, how would you describe your experience at Newcastle Building Society?
My experience at NBS has been really good, the onboarding process was really easy and they have a really good early talent programme which helps when starting a new job as it meant we could all build relationships with people in similar situations through the activities they had taking place. Everyone at NBS is very kind and caring and makes you feel valued in every conversation. No one makes you feel like you can't do things because you've just finished university and don't have past experiences. The hybrid working system is really good and it means that whilst you are adjusting to working life, its made a bit easier that you have the option to work remotely or in the office.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
I am involved with the pricing team in the NSSL side of the business. I really enjoy all elements of my role and feel that this role is really helping improve my skills.

How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

The benefits package is really good, it offers government schemes such as Cycle to work and Electric car schemes. The company also offers a colleague mortgage scheme which can be really helpful for younger people who are looking to move out and get on the property ladder. They also offer Gym membership as a salary sacrifice which is really helpful. There is also the ability to buy and sell 5 holidays per year which is good for those who like to travel.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

It is good to have the extra support as a graduate and be able to learn more things as I go.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

I've learnt a lot in both my formal training and day to day role and think my skills have really developed since I started.

Work life balance is really good, option to buy extra holidays really encourages this. Also the option for flexible hours

Why?
The company is really supportive and is an inclusive environment. The flexibility is really good and the hybrid working system is beneficial. Everyone in the business is lovely and helpful. The company try really hard to foster Early talent through the Early talent programme and this has been really helpful for me just after finishing University
