Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

As an Apprentice Optical Assistant, my day to day duties, are to complete training in the duties of an optical assistant, completing a wide array of services within the optical environment. From admin tasks, to pre-test health checks, dispense and ordering of spectacles for customers, to the handing over and collection/fitting of the patient's specs.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

This is the first job I've had that I can see clear progression opportunities, receive clear instruction on how to improve my abilities and find Intellectually challenging/stimulating, all while feeling supported and valued as a team member. I thoroughly enjoy my job and get on well with the people I work with.

Overall, very well structured and organised, but as with every job there were a few bumps in the road at first while settling in.

I have attended several meals with my colleagues and we are currently discussing the upcoming festive season and what to do for the staff activities.
