Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I would work with the public on numerous things, such as: arriving them into the store, doing collections and fittings of glasses, booking appointments, diagnostics (pre testing) and hear care.
For the apprenticeship I had designated 4 hours per week to written work.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy the apprenticeship a lot, however you really have to advocate for yourself and be selfish with you time to get the work done.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I feel like I have developed so many new skills in the job. its incredible how much you learn in such a little time.
The learning you do is done at your pace and I believe that is the best way you can do it.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
Your coaches are incredible whoever you get. the base the structure of your apprenticeship on how you work best and how you want it.
However in the actual shop, as stated before, you really have to push to get your hours in each week.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
its completely 50/50
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
They are constantly on top of your work and they are the best.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I wouldn't know I'm not even half way through, however I can already feel my confidence in my role grow bigger every day, so I know that once I get that qualification I will be the best worker I would every be.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
there are lots of activities you can do after work. we have currently got a charity football match coming up, we have a quarterly team learning night, we have a Christmas party where the boss tries to go full out and so much more.
