Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
I worked within the wealth management division. This included rotating across two client advisory teams, but also completing projects for many other teams, helping us gain a better understanding of the business. These other teams included the investment team, private client lending team, front office management team and the marketing team.
Day-to-day tasks for the client advisory teams involved client servicing and prospecting.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
The internship consisted of a lot of project based tasks and admin for the analysts/associates in the team. We were given a wide range of tasks in different areas. This was good for learning more about the wealth management business, but meant it was difficult to learn enough to be given responsibility. It was more breadth less depth, therefore not much work with significant responsibility.

Many of the projects we worked on during the internship involved giving presentations to different teams. These helped me improve my presentation skills and particularly how to effectively communicate ideas, for different types of presentations

Support and Guidance
How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
The internship was well structured, and there were several people we could reach out to for support throughout. People were mindful about making sure we weren’t overloaded and that we were keeping on top of our tasks. Some teams offered more guidance than others, while other teams gave less, but were still available to go to with questions if necessary.
