Helping and advising customers and patients, performing tests and supporting customers with our selection of glasses and contact lenses.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

The programme is really enjoyable and works at your own pace. As well as how you like to work and can submit your journals however you find best to learn.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Ive learnt how to use certain machines and what they do, i have developed my people and communication skills.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is well organised and structured as we work through what i want to learn next and improve upon as well as structuring the learning so there's enough to do but not overwhelm.

Support is always available whenever you need it from colleagues, managers and apprenticeship coaches
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

We recieve a lot of support from our training provider as their always there for questions and support when we need more knowledge and explainations for certain aspects.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It gives me all the information that i need for my role as without it i wouldnt know the specific details that i need to explain stuff for my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

We have our social times in the month where we go for a meal or we do little activities all together as a group

Why?
This role has been one of the most interesting roles i've done in my career it has alot of depth and knowledge and learning that you find something new at every corner and no day is the same.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Specsavers?
Research the company, what we do instore so you have a more understanding knowledge of what we do instore, or go for an eye test (if needed) and observe what they do when they help you
