Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Involves helping people with their glasses, explaining optics, advising people on what products to get for their new glasses, glazing lenses, helping people with hearing aid issues, and supporting Optomatrists. I am also completing an Apprenticeship as part of the role.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Helped a lot with my people skills, I've learned a lot about optics and what goes into prescriptions and making glasses.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

My programme is well structured. I have four hours a week to do the learning side of the apprenticeship and frequent calls with two apprenticeship coaches who support and guide me through the apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I feel very well supported with my Apprenticeship. The learning side of it is easy to follow and clear. On the practical side, I am very well supported by my colleagues; they help me no matter what the issue is.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The Apprenticeship has given me a lot of insight into the role that I feel I would not have been able to pick up on without it. I can give better advice, I have better knowledge of the role, and I can help out more.
