Amazing information given all about the world of investment banking. There were many activities, including an interactive game, and lots of informational and knowledgeable lectures that provided me with skills for my future.
How well organised was your experience?

Very well organised. Timings of the day and the schedule was always on point, making it a smooth, stress free experience thanks to the Early Careers team, especially Tyra who was welcoming and amiable throughout the whole 3 days.
To what extent did you enjoy your experience?

Absolutely loved the experience. It was an amazing time, really enjoyed it.

This experience has really helped me realise what career path i want to follow, and they made it very clear cut for us to understand the steps to reach your dream.

What training and skills development did you learn from your experience?

So many skills were gained during the experience on my part. Presentation skills, Business Etiquette, How to write a CV and Cover letter and many more useful life and corporate skills. To any students wanting to engage in the programme next year, I’d advise to take as many notes as you can to have the best advantage for the future.

How much did you learn about the company culture and what it would be like to work there?

The culture at Rothschild is fantastic. So many altruistic and welcoming individuals, who just want you to do well in life. Furthermore, the work-life balance seems to be great and seem to have quality opportunities for internal mobility.
Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees?
5/5
The opportunities for networking within the programme was amazing!! Especially within the selected students, e.g. connecting in LinkedIn and other social medias. However, one slight change i’d suggest is that after each lecture it would’ve been good to have a small amount of time to personally talk 1-to-1 to the employee that gave the speech, but this does not knock the score down for networking and connectivity at all.

Why?
The professionalism, friendliness and chance to network and valuable skills is such a huge part of Rothschild & Co that i admire, and i would love to give other people the opportunity to experience that.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Rothschild & Co?
I would say, for your CV really dig deep into who you are and what skills you have. Skills like teamwork, creativity, communication and analytical and critical thinking are skills you should add to your CV and gain before applying for this experience. Also, do some research into what the experience consists of so you don’t go in blind. You don’t need to have done prior financial work experience (as i had none) but outline specifically what sector you are interested in within investment banking. Furthermore, on your Cover letter, express your true interest in WHY you want the position (make yourself stand out from other candidates), HOW you have applied yourself before the experience (research) and WHAT you’re doing make yourself a good fit for the role (gaining skills) and times WHEN you have shown teamwork skills, analytical skills etc.
