Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

- Dealing with customer enquiries, concerns and complaints
- Aiding customers in choosing glasses
- Completing pretests with customers
- Sending orders of glasses through to the lab
- Calling customers to confirm, cancel or move appointments
- Arriving customers into store
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Sometimes it can be quite stressful however we have got a lovely team and a lot of the customers are very nice

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have gained lots of confidence and learned a lot about the customer journey as well as lots about the world of optics

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Sometimes it can get a bit chaotic in store, however the structure provided by the apprenticeship team is always good
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Management and in store team are always able to help, I have had a fair few personal struggles that they have been so helpful and supportive with
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The providers are always available to message and have been supportive the whole time, there were quite a few changes to start however my final apprenticeship coach [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the Higherin Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] has been incredibly and I was lucky enough to be able to have her support for a whole year
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It has provided me with positive affirmations and encouragement that I am doing my job well, it also provides me with knowledge and understanding of my role alongside the learning instore
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are bi-yearly work social events where we do an activity and have a meal together, this allows us to feel more like a cohort of people rather than just coworkers
