Vehicle Performance Review

Supporting Strategy Group and Performance Engineers with Data analysis. Main focus on Pit stop and Pit lane performance which includes feeding back to the drivers and engineering team during the debriefs. Other tasks include creating pre event documentation on track limits and wet running, as well as health checking our cars during live sessions. Majority of analysis is completed in MATLAB, Python and PowerBI.

I was given a lot of responsibility in my placement. This included creating and running a “health checking” tool. It was my responsibility to flag any issues in the steering or suspension of the car onto the performance or race engineers. I was also responsible for all data analysis regarding pit stops and had the freedom to decide what data was relevant and ways to present it to both individual crew members and management

Developed my communications skills by presenting in 4 meetings a week and using the radio system during live sessions. Developed my coding and data analysis skills in MATLAB, Python and PowerBI.

Company culture was extremely positive and one which fostered growth. The team is showing progress and moving back towards world championship winning ways. The culture is forward thinking and heavily focused on early careers, with approximately 20% of the company falling into this category.

I enjoyed majority of my placement and relished all the opportunities and responsibilities of the job. Some parts I enjoyed less, including working weekends and offset hours. However, this is not a reflection of the company, more so of Formula One
