I’m a learning & development manager responsible for all operational and leadership training for manufacturing and logistics. This involves working with a range of stakeholders to develop programmes, engage the teams and review progress.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I thoroughly enjoyed the programme, specifically the group sessions and additional learning.

My coaching apprenticeship taught me loads of new skills around professional coaching which have been able to use in my day to day role and as part of additional support for senior leaders in the business.

The programme was really well structured with a clear roadmap and milestones to monitor my progress.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My line manager and leadership team supported me with regular 1:1s to discuss progress, celebrating my success and ensuring I have the right time off the job to do my apprenticeship work.

My development coach was fantastic at supporting my developing, always on hand when I had questions and gave me regular feedback.

My coaching apprenticeship supported me to be more confident at work with a range of stakeholders and supported me with the skills to develop those around me and I use these skills everyday.

Morrisons is a great place to work, a really dynamic business with an opportunity to develop new skills, and develop your career in a huge range of avenues. I’ve spent the past 11 years developing my career for a part time colleague to a L&D manager.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Morrisons?
Be customer focused, always! Be ready for a fast paced, dynamic business that makes great things happen for customers and colleagues as well as local communities!
