To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

The programme was definitely challenging at times but I had an amazing support group around me to help me navigate through the process.
I am glad to have been a part of this programme and been able to take away a substantial amount of learning too.

I have developed my communication skills, specifically via email and phone calls as this wasn't something I had much exposure to in School.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Very well structured. We were assigned specific learning during different months throughout the programme.
However, when I was balancing Work with the Apprenticeship, there was flexibility in my Apprenticeship tasks. As long as I kept up communication with my coach.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

I received a great deal of support from my employer, specially the HR/Early Careers team who oversaw our programmes.
I also received a great deal of help from my team when I first started Work. This helped me pick up on the basic insurance knowledge. Which, in turn, helped me work through the Apprenticeship.

I received a full study day per Exam/Qualification.
Further, in the week or two lead up to exams, my team were supportive of my workload to allow me more time to focus on studies through the day.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The Broking specific qualifications (e.g. I10) was the most helpful in understanding the regulations we follow in the Market.
The general market knowledge gained from these qualifications help to widen my knowledge as my team specialise in Surety, which is not a Insurance Product. Therefore, the qualifications ensured I did not miss out on the Insurance knowledge.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There is great variety of extra activities I can pick up on through work. Such as, netball, football and community days.
My Work also offers ESG groups which focus on Pride, Women in Insurance etc which help us all feel more a part of a team.

Lockton has given me so much opportunity to grow despite my age and lack of experience.
The people here are so caring and it really does feel like a family. Anytime I have had queries or concerns regarding home or work life, there has always been a support network available to me.

Be authentically yourself and don't shy away from asking questions.
