Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
The role that I am involved in as an Early Years apprentice is being in the nursery on Monday to Friday and when in the nursery I am working alongside the team that I am in the room to make sure that we are developing and supporting the children to have the best experience to nurture and develop from babies to pre-school ages where I am in with the babies and we are helping all the children to learn through using their motor skills to use their arms and legs in the activities that we are planning for them. Also when in the nursery I am taking part in regular planning around the children’s age to make sure that we are giving them the best activities and learning experiences that suit their age range as 1 to 2 year olds and helping them to develop to talk. On Wednesdays I am in training where I am taking part in enrichment sessions and also coursework where I am gaining experience of working in early years.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
Being able to work alongside the children and also develop my understanding of how I am an early years practitioner working in early years, it is also really key how I am able to learn of my course leaders and their experience that they are able to give back to me as i am completing my level 3 apprenticeship.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt many new skills where I have really been able to develop penological conversations with parents about their child’s day at the nursery and where they have been developing well, this has given me great confidence in being able to trust myself to say what all the children have been learning and doing throughout the whole day at the nursery. I have also been able to use plenty of skills where before I started in my role a year ago being able to look after children and work with them when taking good care of them and helping them to develop and nurture.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The apprenticeship structure and program is well organised due to being able to work and also study about the early years environment and do coursework that can be really important to how I can develop myself as an early years practitioner, The course that I am on jabs also been really key to how we have all been able to grow when working in a nursery setting to always having the correct resources and documents that can help out with doing the coursework and also getting to complete enrichment sessions.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I receive a great amount of support from my employer as when I need to ask any questions of how I am doing or about anything to do with the course work I am then able to receive plenty of responses and help that can support me with my course work and also when training.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I have received a great amount of help from my training provider as when I need any support I am able to go and ask anything about the course work or any tips that they can give their experience on when I am in the nursery I can learn of plenty experienced staff members.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Through my training that I am doing on a Wednesday I am able to go and perform well in my role through how to teach and support the children but also be able to have the chance to take what I am doing in my coursework and adapt it to the way I teach and help to develop the children
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
We have had plenty of enrichment sessions where I have been able to see plenty of real life nursery experiences and also watch videos in these sessions and then have plenty of group discussions about what had gone on.
I have also been able to take part in musical sessions where we have then taken it back to the children to give them a chance of playing music and also finding out it can relieve stress when at work
