Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
It can change, I get given a job and then do some programming if needed on the machine and I am confident on the set up side of things. I have recently been training up a new member of staff.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
The college side I think could be better but I do enjoy my apprenticeship and continue to learn new skills at work.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
I have developed my knowledge on the machine and fitting. Before I started my apprenticeship and job here I had only done some manual machining. I have got better at different basics and I understand drawings and how to read them.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
It could be better, the communication between teachers and students.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I get a lot of support from my manager and directors. I can go to any member of staff for help with a job or anything i am struggling with. I have quarterly chats with HR around my course and how i am getting on at work.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
I have got more support in maths at college with an extra lesson which is good. The cover teacher for the tutor who has left is helping a lot. I see my tutor every 6 weeks at work to look over my progress and sets new targets on smart assessor for me to work towards.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
It gives me more understanding of how the manufacturing works and help me more with my maths which can help in set ups and speed them up.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
The company do have works dos and I also got the opportunity to attend one of our customers for the day. We got to tour the test site and museum.
