Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Day to day, I go through a list given by my supervisor to work to. This includes jobs that are high priority the most, and begin gathering jobs from the list. I go through the route card and instructions for operation and begin creating inspection drawing or simply just reuploading a job we have already repeated. If I wasn't doing CAD I would be working on the CNC machines.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy my apprenticeship opens doors and creates a career for me, learning every day and improving in machining and CAD.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Yes, in CAD I hadn't done this prior to my apprenticeship. My communication skills have improved and behavioural skills. Programming machines and working in a shop floor environment.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
I attend college 1 day a week which helps me to stay on track, I also have apprentice meeting catch ups once a month with my employer where we look at my progress.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
As mentioned I have catch ups once a month with my employer and also quarterly with HR. I feel supported by my manager and college assessor. I feel comfortable asking for help with work or college studies.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My assessor comes in to see me every 6 weeks, we discuss my progress and a review of everything i have improved on and working on. We look at what new skills, behaviours and knowledge i have learnt. I feel supported by them.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
The program has given me the stepping stone I need to progress in my company and career. The skills I have learnt through college support what i do at work in my role. This qualification will push me into the next level of my career.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
We have a Christmas do that company fund, this is a nice way for the entire building to get together and to know each other better. We have also organised events amongst ourselves such as an ale trail.
