Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Day to day I assemble jobs and rivets. Paint parts and drill counter sink.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Currently I am not overly enjoying my apprenticeship. This is my first job since leaving school and sometimes some of the work can be overwhelming or I don't get a lot due to jobs not coming in. I have made some new friends on my course and in the workplace.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes, I have developed everything mentioned above. I hadn't done those prior to starting my job and apprenticeship. My communication skills have improved through speaking with other colleagues.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

I think the apprenticeship could be structured better. The work I do at college doesn't always sync with what is completed at work. I am doing a welding course at college to be able to complete my level 3 but it doesn't always work out great.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I attend apprentice reviews once a month with my managers where we talk about how I am getting on and if I have any concerns. I also have quarterly meetings with HR to discuss how my programme is going and any changes or support I may need.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I didn't get much support at the college in certain lessons however I see my assessor every 6 weeks and we discuss off the job hours and progress on my Smart Assessor. I feel the support could be better.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel it will help with my future role and career, it will help me stand out from others.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

We have a works do at the end of the year with the whole building. We also celebrate a leaving do, again we get a chance to all be together.

If they are interested in engineering, it is a big group so there are many companies that they can go to and begin a career.

Give the job some thought and make sure that you have an interest.
