HR Manager, involves dealing with ER cases, talent and succession planning, organising training and development, pay reviews, recruitment.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I do enjoy my programme however sometimes find it hard to engage fully in the online workshops, in person would be more beneficial for me personally, I enjoy the professional discussions and my skills coach helps me understand the content of the apprenticeship

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes I learn new skills daily, in terms of dealing with grievances, disciplinaries and complaints, I have developed existing skills with talent and succession planning and workforce planning, which the theory side of my apprenticeship has assisted with
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

It is very well structured and we have regular workshops and 1-2-1s. everything is planned in the diary in advance, help to plan around the working week.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive lots of support from my line manager in allowing me time out of my day to day tasks to take on apprenticeship related studies. I have also been given the opportunity to lead on projects which will contribute to my apprenticeship
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Training provider provides excellent support, my skills coach is really helpful when reviewing my draft assignments and provides me with useful and insightful feedback.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My apprenticeship has helped provide the academic theory as to what I do in my role. Often things i learn in the workshop and techniques I am able to use in my role. Off the job hours help me reflect on what I am doing in my role and how this contributes to my apprenticeship
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes there is lots to get involved with, engagement events, organised runs and also diversity and inclusion action groups. GXO is a great employer for additional activities

Why?
A huge range of apprenticeships on offer. There is an apprenticeship to every type of job role. I have been with the business for 3.5 years and am studying to towards my second apprenticeship. GXO really value the development of their people and the importance of training to assist in role. GXO also have a huge virtual learning platform for lots of shorter courses to assist with development in role and for the next role
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to GXO Logistics?
It is a very people focused business, be prepared for a fast-paced environment but one where there is a huge sense of community and everyone feels valued. GXO will help identify your strengths and allow you to flourish in whatever you put your mind to
