Warehouse operative Review

I enjoyed attending university and gaining a clearer understanding of how logistics works in practice. However, the workplace provided very little support for my studies and did not offer opportunities to gain new or relevant experience. Previous apprentices were given higher or developmental roles to help them build experience, but this was not offered to me, and I remained in a warehouse operative role throughout.
During my first year, I was not given any study time at work. In my second and third years, study time was only provided occasionally. Despite requesting support and attending multiple meetings to discuss my apprenticeship, including requests for a work laptop with Microsoft apps and the opportunity to move into a higher role to gain experience, but no action was taken. The response given was that no higher roles were available.
The requested work laptop took two years to arrive, only to be issued instead to agency workers and later to a new administrative starter on site. As a result, I never received the laptop that had been requested to support my studies.

I have learned and retained some of the material provided through my university studies, including personal development, emotional intelligence, emotional resilience, and law. However, I did not gain any new learning or development from the workplace. I did, however, further develop existing skills, particularly in team management and investigative work.
