Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I assist customers through their journey at Specsavers. I do their pre-test screening, offer advice on glasses, provide a dispense of glasses, adjust frames and when their glasses come back into store I also do their collection.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy every aspect of it. I love learning new skills on shop floor and also upstairs online when doing my apprenticeship work.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have. My customer service skills have excelled here, I am more confident talking to customers face to face and also over the phone. I have also risen to the task of my job role and try to exceed in everything that I do.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Very well. Everyone involved makes sure it is never too overwhelming or too much pressure. It works out that whatever you are learning on shop floor, you are also learning the same online.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I have a full team of support at my store and my apprenticeship coaches. They are always there if I need any help or questions answered.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

A lot. I am in control of deciding what I need support on most when we have our calls. They are always only a message away if I have any queries or questions.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I am learning online the reasons why I’m doing my job on shop floor. I am able to understand the rules and laws behind everything I’m doing.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

We have a lot of team activities. They offer study nights, meals out, days out.
