Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I have spent the last 9 months in the customs team. I do general admin tasks such as the shared inbox, I also manage our vendor discrepancies reaching out to retrieve missing documentation. I have also taken responsibility of creating the excel breakdowns of TBM's once deal is created.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I have enjoyed the focus groups with face to face learning, hearing other apprentices view depending on the function they're currently working in. I have also enjoyed the opportunities it has given me e.g. store immersions visit and Processing Centre visit.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have developed my general IT and excel skills learning how to create pivot tables, consolidate data, Vlook ups and other formulas. I have also learnt how to communicate with different functions e.g. sensitive buyers or vendors.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
Opportunity has been amazing, great to see three different parts of logistics. Also the opportunity to see the stage before logistics, buying. Focus groups could be more regular and meeting with skills coach could be more than once a month to stay engaged.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
We have been assigned two people within TJX who will guide us through the whole 24 months. Have been given the opportunity to create relationships within the business by being asigned a buddy.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
Communication is minimal as we only have an hour meeting once a month. Focus groups are extremely helpful as we have face to face learning with the all apprentices as you're able to learn from others. Would be useful to have the focus group more often.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
My learning from SR has helped me to identify which module relates my to current learning role. It has helped me to understand the tasks that I am doing, for example why reporting is so important.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
I love the culture at TJX. The activities and opportunities allow you to create relationships. This is so important for day to day activities, as it makes you comfortable to ask dor support from other functions.
