Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
answering customer queries on all channels, helping both external and internal customers. Assisting them as best as we can, always looking for a positive outcome.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
2/5
The programme gave me a useful insight into the ways of working and a better understanding of business knowledge. I was able to apply my learnings by completing projects that could be used to help my department, helping some of the teams in my department and helping new starters with their training. The programme allowed me to think about new topics and have new ways of thinking. However, at times it seemed poorly run and not always related to my job role, I feel like it did not necessarily help me progress in my role.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I learned about different business models and how to look into the business needs and balance these with the customer's needs. I also learned about laws and regulations that can affect us as a company, myself as an individual, and the customer, and how I can help the customer by having this knowledge.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The different modules were clear and easy to understand, but they did not always seem necessary for my job role. It would have been better to have the programme tailored to our brand of customer service and not feel like a generic experience the apprenticeship. I did like the different modules and completing at least one per month suited my needs and time frame very well.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
I was always given time to complete my apprenticeship assignments and felt that I could always ask for help when needed, however as the programme did not necessarily align with my job role it was hard for them to provide me with the help I needed as they were not aware of the answers that panned out with the assignments.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
I had one on one sessions with my tutor every two weeks, we only had 2 group sessions throughout the entire programme instead of the 1 per month we were advised we would have. We also did not meet the tutor in person, I think would have been a better experience had we been able to meet her in person. As much as I was appreciate of my tutors help, I felt that sometimes I was unable to get answers in a timely fashion as she also had so many other apprentices to help.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
1/5
I do not feel that the apprenticeship was beneficial to my job role, I could have learned everything on the job and not needed to put the time into writing assignments and completing the research. I have many peers on the same level as me who did not complete the apprenticeship and have still succeeded in their role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
We hold many networking events as a company, and as a department organise events quite often. There are different groups you can get involved in if you wish to join them.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend TJX Europe to a friend?
Yes
Why?
The company environment is one of nurture, value, and respect. If you are willing to put in the work to constantly improve yourself and show your interest in learning, then you will thrive at TJX. I have always felt supported and encouraged to pursue my interests, including signing up for learning sessions and building a personal brand. I have built a network within several departments and have regular contact with them. Working at TJX has helped me grow as a person and has helped me learn my strengths and what my preferred career pathway is.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to TJX Europe?
I would advise applicants to always be pursuing something, whether that is to look for opportunities of learning, networking or progression. To show your interests, even if it is not what your job role is, and to build strong networks across the company. Always speak your mind and do not be afraid to challenge others, everyone has an individual approach to different tasks and by speaking your mind could help produce a new way to work.
