Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I am a Site Operations Manager for GXO Logistics, Multi-Customer site in Wellingborough. My day to day responsibility is the safe and efficient operating and service provided to our customers. I look after the operations of customers with both ecommerce (B2C) and retail (B2B) business. I interact daily with customers via email, phone and teams. I also interact directly with colleagues, both on site and at other GXO sites. I work with data regularly to tell a story of how we perform, identify areas for improvement and put in place changes for improving on cost.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I thoroughly enjoyed working on this program. I have a passion for working with data and creating visualisations for communicating to different stakeholders. The interaction with both other colleagues on the course and with the coaches and tutors was positive. I enjoyed working on the projects that I could link to my assignments and OTJ.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I further developed my skills at working with data in Microsoft Excel - through additional skills in cleaning and organising data for analysis. I gained brand new skills working with the Business Intelligence tool Tableau. I also gained some soft skills in how to communicate better with data - story telling to audiences and bringing to life insights that are found with data analysis.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The programme was very well organised. We had clear dates and times shared with us about all course workshops - also, had flexibility for booking in coach sessions (one to one and group sessions) which was appreciated.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
My line manager at the time allowed me to work flexibility to meet the deadlines and this was a great help. I was in a fortunate position to be able to do this predominately within the workplace, although have done previous apprenticeships which I didnt get the same support.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Multiverse were brilliant! They supporting throughout, but in particular, on the lead up to the EPA, they were very helpful with preparing for this assessment and also being able to practice skills for demonstration. The advice from my tutor (Owen) was always very helpful and the guidance certainly helped me with achieving the Distinction grade that I achieved.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I believe that having good skills to work with data (from gathering, to cleaning, to organising to analysing) is very important when working in logistics. I use these skills often and it has given me a better understanding of working with BI tools and providing insights to customer and colleagues.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
We see a lot of events taking place across GXO on our Workplace website. Social events that take place on both site level and across the business unit or regional. There are different networking events that take place for different levels, but these are less frequent.
