Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Observing and quantifying the time taken to carry out tasks in a 3PL warehouse and where possible coordinate with CI team to identify and remove waste. Working on multiple project with differing stakeholder levels both internally for GXO and with the customer M&S
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
It was very interesting to meet other people from other sites, because of the site of our cohort we were all GXO but differing contracts so it was good to make connections for future project and developments

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Developed my existing skills using excel and was introduced to powerBI to take analysis and presentation a step further. Additionally, my tutor helped me develop my time management skills to improve the service I deliver on site.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Multiverse had a very solid structure, it encouraged you to keep on top of the work so you didn't fall behind, but were understanding if there were any genuine issues and support was there in those cases. The vast majority of the content was a logical progression from the previous session, just adding more detail or another element.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My manager is always supportive of people wanting to take opportunities to improve and was always available if I needed to bounce an idea or sought advice on how to approach an issue. The company were also supportive of the offsite visit for an in person meet of the cohort knowing it was an even better chance to network within GXO.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My tutor was amazing, she had the perfect balance of challenging you and how you approach things while being reassuring in hers. She helped me a lot with both the content if we needed to ask questions and understand, but also with the self development to help us be more rounded.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
Yes, the data analysis skills make sure I look through my data in a more structured way which saves time when I start to analyse it. There are also times where the support I got helps me distribute my work load more effectively, meaning each project gets the time and attention it deserves rather than just whatever time I've got available.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, both digitally and physically. Onsite we have a sports and social club that organise many events to involve as many people from bring a dish day to day trips at the coast. Digitally, and specifically linked to my apprenticeship, there is now a subgroup of our workplace platform dedicated to reviewing and celebrating peoples data presentations to share tips and solutions to get the most out of our dashboards.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend GXO Logistics to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I've known people who have worked for GXO, gone to work for other companies and then come back - which speaks volumes in itself! But also, it's easy to feel lost in a larger organisation but GXO has a culture of inclusion and you can't but feel part of it.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to GXO Logistics?
Give it time. It can take some time to progress if you're ambitious but persevere and you'll get there. Big companies like ours see lots and lots of people come and go, especially with the job market as it is, if you stick at it and do a good job you will be recognised and rewarded for it.
