Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Data analytics and reporting across several contracts; mainly for new business or large projects and occasionally for specific operational challenges. This involves cleaning data from various sources and using tools appropriate to the task in hand (Excel, Power Query, Power Bi, Tableau, Python).
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

The learning experience was excellent, a good mix of new skills and developing upon previously know tools or topics. The programme was challenging but rewarding.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

New skills included Python and Tableau (including Tableau Prep). A greater understanding of tubulised data structures, policy/governance (including GDPR, PII, DPIA, Ethical practices)
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme structure included Excel, that I already had extensive knowledge of and as such was time consuming. However, the remainder of the course was relevant to my needs and was organised appropriately - giving me the opportunity to learn and apply new skills along with feedback on progress made.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Support was great, I was given the time I required for pre-work, learning modules, assignments and projects (this included relevant data sets from the business). I also had access to the new tools I was learning (Python, Tableau).
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Assignment feedback was thorough and definitely helped ensure I understood what I was learning and how to apply those learnings practically. There were opportunities to discuss topics in greater depth as required. The training provider ensured that I knew exactly what was expected of me in order to attain the qualification. I achieved a Distinction as a result!
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I have been able to apply the new skills directly in my day to day work. Being able to apply Python within my role has meant that some tasks have been easier to manage, particularly with very large datasets that would not have been possible with the tools previously within my arsenal.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes, and these are communicated either on site or via online forums -these include social events, charity walks etc. I've joined a 'DataFam' group that helps share ideas and view other colleagues solutions to work based challenges - this has also broadened my professional network.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to GXO Logistics?
Demonstrate your ability to work on your own initiative and especially as part of a team, along with a desire to challenge yourself so that you grow with the company.
