Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I am a Public Health Apprentice and my role involves working across the health protection and health improvement team. I am currently working on seasonal vaccinations such as the COVID-19 spring booster and working on a communications plan to ensure the key messages are distributed accordingly as well as work on Sexual Health and Adverse Weather.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I am really enjoying the healthy split between academic learning through university and lectures to learning on the job while at work. I am a very visual and hands on learner so this is a great split between the two.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I am continuing to learn each and everyday in my apprenticeship and learning the basics right up to the key skills of Public Health.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
I think the programme is very well structured. The lectures and university aspect is very well organised and a set day per week which is protected. In terms of on the job learning my projects are to be linked with my current modules so that i am gaining hands on experience of what i am currently studying.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I am very well supported by my team and line management during my apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
The university is great for support and happy to help with any queries or assignment support or questions.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The qualification and studying aspect helps me to perform better in my role as every module and lecture is relevant to my job role and coincides with my projects i am working on.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
I am unsure of this aspect but i know there are several networking events with key partners.
