Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role is assessing tax payers council tax accounts, updating them and ensuring that they are correct. I contact customers via email and telephone. I also assess govtech forms to update accounts.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have enjoyed taking on this apprenticsehip as i have been working, alongside my qualification, earning and gaining a valuable qualification. I have been able to manage my work load, make new friends and challenge myself.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have never had experience working within local government, which has broaden my knowledge and skills in a different area, i have also learnt how to look up legislation, how to understand legislation and why it is important.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is very structured and i have had no issues, i have managed my workload and found no issues with organisation.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

I feel like i have good support, i get my allocated time to work on my qualification and when there is a topic i am not familiar with i can ask for extra time for me to be able to complete my work, for example speaking to a certain team, or further coaching.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive lots of support, i can contact my mentor via email and our portal for any questions i have, i can also request time slots if i need any extra support with my mentor 1 on 1.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel that my qualification has helped me alot as i undertstand why i do what i do, i also have knowledge of legislation through my qualification which enables me to do my daily tasks.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I have not yet participated in any extra events as i have a busy personal life.

Would you recommend City of Wolverhampton Council to a friend?

Yes

Why?

I think this is a great place to work and it is a secure job, there is flexible working hours and work from home which gives more variation, you can also move between departments and obtain qualifications.
