Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I have a leadership role which involves interacting with others to ensure Newcastle University delivers on national initiatives whilst at the same time support technical colleagues to ensure the delivery of teaching programmes and research projects.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy the interaction with others on cohort as the dialogic social reconstruction helps change my world view.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes. I have learnt to be more introspective and use a robust framework to help me think through problems in a VUCA environment.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
It is very well structured and the materials are of high quality. Both the materials and the structure of the programme are communicated very well.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I have a very supportive mananger who makes himself available for discussions and assists with the off the job hours.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Amazing support in a variety of ways, e.g. email, tutorial, coaching, discussion but most of all very friendly and approachable.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The introspection has helped me understand myself so I can understand others much better. The knowledge on leadership perspectives have reinforced my leaderfull practice and made me more relational.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
yes. As a result of some of the learning and social reconstruction I have joined the race equality network as it resonates with my values and I can see how important allyship is to them. It makes a difference to me as well, as it has moved the dial for me from being a non-racist to an anti-racist.
