Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My role is to manage clinical trials within a clinical trials unit. Daily duties are very varied and can change based on the stage of the lifecycle but include protocol development, preparation of trial documents for submission, training site staff, monitoring the trial, chairing meetings and trial reporting.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I started my programme in January and I'm really enjoying it so far. The assignments can be challenging but that is to be expected when learning, and the course content is very interesting.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes, I'm doing the clinical trials specialist degree apprenticeship. I already have experience in clinical trials but the course has strengthened my knowledge which has led to development of my critical thinking skills and building my confidence within my role.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
My programme is structured well, there were some issues in the induction week with accessibility to the seminars, however everything has been organised well since then.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My employer offers support where needed. We have regular catch up meetings to check-in on how I'm finding the programme and how I can implement my learning within the workplace.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
The training providers are very supportive. The lecturers are always happy to respond to emails with queries on the course content or assignments and there are weekly slots to book video calls with them if further support is required.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
So far the qualification is deepening my knowledge in clinical trials which is helping me to make quicker links in my daily work and helping me to look at things with more perspective.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, I socialise with colleagues at social outings, and attend networking events such as the UKTMN conference.
