Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Constant communication with key business partners, meetings with stakeholders, planning of meetings and projects ahead. Engage in business opportunities with stakeholders and provide insights from a Procurement perspective, support business projects with sourcing / market research/ purchasing/ tenders.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I have been lucky to be supported by the company in exploring trainings related to my personal development, career aspirations and allowed to speak on my experience and how to improve. I have acquired knowledge for the professional world of Procurement and I have discovered different areas within the profession.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
My day-to-day job has allowed me to practice pre-existing skills like time management and communication, getting feedback from my colleagues has helped shape them to professional standards. I have also acquired many other skills such as teamwork and critical thinking, problem solving and reporting. Thankfully, the job has improved my skills with tools such as Excel.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The expectation set was a learning process happening in tandem with the day-to-day job and I believed my department would have awareness of the timeline or CIPS program in advance, which was not the case. And at times it was more challenging, having to communicate with the business on deadlines or expectations from the learning providor. Sometimes the program was not synchronized in a way that would optimize the learning and the practice of new found knowledge.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
On a professional level, it has been undeniably strong. The company has always involved my in discussions about my performance, progress, responsibilities and opportunities. The communication has always been on the supportive side, with guidance and answers to my questions. On the personal level, it has also been reassuring to be proven many times that I can rely on my colleagues and the business overall to express concerns or celebrate milestones. There has been no pressure but motivation and committement to success.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
The training provider has been consistant in keeping us updated on the program and expectations for the qualification. We always had support for our queries and administrative issues. However, there were times when the timeline was confusing and it seemed like no one could bring clarity on certain matters or the matter would be passed to another person to resolve.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
The qualification has facilitated my understanding of the business function and also the role of Procurement in other companies, in the public sector etc. It has allowed me to perform my job tasks while knowing why it operates that way, and added critical thinking to my decision-making process. It also helps me shape my career journey.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are several activities or events organized by our department or the company in general. We have charity events in which we play sports to raise funds, we have cultural activities to learn about the world and colleagues, we have a global team week which allows us to network with all the department associates from all over the world.
