Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
As an apprentice service desk analyst I am the first point of contact for customers and their IT issues. I perform basic triage and escalate cases to the relevant teams if necessary. Cases/ task can range from anything as basic as password resets, to more complex network and connectivity issues.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I am greatly enjoying my apprenticeship both in terms of the job, as well as the content being taught. Within the job, I regularly feel challenged and rewarded/ praised for my efforts. My skills coach delivers the apprenticeship content in a format that is easy to understand but simultaneously engaging .

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt a variety of new skills that I had little to no exposure to prior to the apprenticeship. Some of the most valuable skills that I have developed are my ability to communicate effectively and in a professional manner, improved problem solving and timekeeping to meet apprenticeship deadlines.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
I feel like my program is well structured and the skills being taught are relevant to the world of IT. I am made aware of my deadlines and I am given sufficient time to work on them. At times these deadlines can become hard to follow/ keep track of them.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I am given more than sufficient support in both my job and apprenticeship. I am encouraged to ask questions and discuss progression opportunities. All feedback is constructive with the goal of helping me. If I am struggling to meet any deadlines, I am able to ask for additional study time
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I feel like I receive enough support from my provided. I have regular reviews with my skills coach/ project advisor to discuss my plans, ideas, thoughts and concerns. If there are any concepts that I struggle to understand, these are reworded in a way that makes them easier to conceptualise.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
As mentioned previously, all the content that is being taught on the apprenticeship is relevant to my role or other roles that I have the opportunity to progress to. A mixture of theoretical knowledge and practical skill are taught, which allow me to perform to the best of my ability.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
Although there are some extra-curricular activities, professional networking events and social activities; these are few, distant, or do not appeal to me or other apprentices.
