Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My role as an apprentice project manager involves handling my projects, liaising with stakeholders, producing reports, and handling ad-hoc requests. I actively manage my own project(s) and think about how I take my university learnings and apply it in the real world within my work.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy my programme very much. I am able to take the academic learnings from university and combine them with actual on the job learning which has accelerated my ability to perform. I am given plenty of responsibility and the work I do is engaging ad the people i work with are great.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learned a plethora of new skills and had significant development in others. From the degree apprenticeship programme so far I have become in project management principles and practices, such as governance and planning structures as well as stakeholder management. Being able to work in a dynamic fast paced environment has improved my ability to adapt, communicate and build strong working relationships.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
It is well structured. My programme is split into 80% on the job learning, where I am working for Toyota four days a week and then i have a study leave day that is flexible depending on my week, however this is usually a Friday for me. Each week from university there is a new module and a regular rhythm of assessments that allows me to be able to plan ahead
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My employer offers a plethora of support. I am made to feel that I can talk to anyone within the business for support and from my time at Toyota this definitely stands true. They are big on supporting people to be there best and I receive plenty of formal and informal development and support. i also know that if there was a problem I would feel comfortable to raise this to the respective area, ether if that is to my managers or the HR team
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
The support I receive from them is good. For each course there is a respective tutor that is always accessible to speak to if there are any problems. i also have a dedicated 'success manager' from the university that I have bi-monthly check-ins with to ensure I am on track.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
The learnings from my courses are directly applicable into my working role. Whilst some courses are more theoretical in nature, such as the principles of management, I can always think bout how this might apply within my day to day job role. On the other hand, there are also plenty of courses I have done that are more tangible within my role, with learnings such as how to plan a project and see it through successfuly, as well as governance and stakeholder management
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes there are plenty of extra curricular activities at Toyota. Some of my highlights have been social events out, weekly football with the occasional game against other companies. We even went to cologne to compete against Toyota entities from around the world in a football tournament. There is also a plethora or other events to get involved in and genuinely something for everyone .

Yes
Why?
Its a company that puts people at the heart of everything they do. there is loads of opportunities for progression and the development I have received has bettered both my personal and professional life. I genuinely have not come across a person I have not gotten along with and I can always see the value in the work we are doing. Also the amount of benefits on offer is second to none, with a host of support for both you and your family as well as the option for a brand new car every year.
