Overall, how would you describe your experience at Toyota GB?
This graduate scheme has packed in a broad range of experience across three different departments. Toyota's commitment to development has enabled me to grow in confidence and learn new things, and the attitude from management has been proactive to ensure we are exposed to processes and information that are valuable for our overall understanding of the business.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
Level of responsibility can vary between rotations, but generally we are empowered to lead on our own projects to deliver commercially beneficial results for the business. Because of the short-term nature of our rotations (6 months each) we often won't have much 'BAU' day-to-day work, so we are able to focus almost entirely on the projects we work on to improve processes and take a proactive approach to having an impact on the teams we work with. My favourite element of this experience has been the buddying // mentoring opportunities. As Graduates, we are paired up with the newest cohort of Graduates as buddies to support them throughout their experience. I have also been able to be a Mentor for undergraduate students at my old university to support them with application processes and preparing for life after University. The overall empowerment and flexibility of this scheme has been my favourite element, being exposed to high levels of responsibility while having the flexibility and trust to spend time helping other has been my favourite element.

The culture at Toyota GB is welcoming and fun. The Sports & Social Society is a top-class benefit that allows you to socialise with co-workers through common interests and hobbies, and the feel and environment of the office is top-class.

Just be yourself - the most valuable thing in a graduate scheme is being comfortable and confident enough to adjust and adapt to new teams on a regular basis, so being friendly and approachable goes a long way!
