Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

I manage Toyota GB' social impact programmes, organise corporate volunteering days, manage the relationship with our charity partners and perform environmental reporting tasks.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I was given a lot of responsibility throughout this placement year, and got to take ownership of many projects. This pushed me in a very positive way, and I was able to develop confidence in my business area. The responsibility also allowed me to employ creativity when designing new processes.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

I have learned technical skills in excel and powerpoint. Furthermore I have significantly developed my soft skills, including communication, collaboration and problem solving. This year has also given me the opportunity to develop my presentation and project management skills.

Support and Guidance

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

The support I received from my team was brilliant, and I felt like I could go to them for a range of issues. More support could have been provided for all students in the beginning of the placement, and potentially would be beneficial to have had a contact to go to outside of m team to answer any placement related questions.
