Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role involves supporting the Procurement Team. This can be anything from setting up meetings, sending documents and emails both internally and externally, conducting spend analysis, publishing tenders and also volunteering in the local community.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I am enjoying my programme to the greatest extent. I have a team who are fully supportive of me in completing my Level 4 CIPS Qualification. I feel as though I am able to express myself and ask any questions that I have around the procurement process. I am learning a good mix of familiar and new content.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt how to be proficient in using Microsoft Excel. I have also learnt how to manage communications between colleagues and adapting myself to different personalities and ways of working. I have learnt how the procurement process works in the public sector and how important it is to conduct due diligence.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My Programme is well structured. I have a day of the week dedicated for a study day and I am able easily find a space to complete my weekly lesson in the office. Each module is taught a good pace with ample time to revise and prepare for the exam.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a lot of support from my employer. The best thing is the flexibility to dedicate a portion of my working day towards CIPS. Members of my team have also undergone the same qualification, so I am able to converse with them and ask questions around the content which really helps.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My training provider provides great support. Aside from the content of the qualification we are also encouraged to find real-life and recent examples of how a specific part of the module links to what is currently happening in the world. My training provider also sets homework which helps in the logging of OTJs as well as quizzes to test recall and knowledge.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I believe that my qualification helps with the theoretical side of my role and in understanding the deeper reasons as to why we work in a specific way. The qualification also deals with procurement in general and not just procurement in social housing so I am confident that by the end of the Programme I have the knowledge to explore other sectors too.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are extra-curricular activities to get involved and what I like is that they are community focused. To me, it means so much more to be able to connect with the community. There are many opportunities to get involved in professional networking events and my team is particularly supportive in getting us all involved in them.
