Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I am a Director of Clinical Services, my role involves operational, clinical and quality oversight of site. Each day is very different and typically involves high-level meetings and decision making, ensuring safety of site, patients and staff, incident reviews and supporting incidents clinically and managerially. I also review the quality of site which involves care for patients, documentation, processes, systems management and quality improvement projects.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I have really enjoyed my programme, my only area of frustration is the way in which the University communicates with students, very much reactive opposed to proactive.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Yes I have significantly developed my business analytical skills, financial knowledge and understanding of marketing.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
Communications are not always clear, very reactive opposed to proactive. The apprenticeship side certainly feels more organised and well managed than the masters side.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Amazing support, both from my immediate line manager and team to regional and central services. Everyone has been so willing and keen to support as/when I have needed support or shadowing.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
Apprenticeship side - lots, monthly support sometimes more if I request this. Masters - less so, feels more instruction based and limited interaction with tutor on a 1:1 basis, depending on the module facilitator impacts the support you will receive.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
My improved knowledge of finance and marketing has been very impactful on my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
Professional network meetings and some recent DoCS social and development programmes. No recreational activities unless site arrange this themselves.
