As a Trainee Hearing Aid Dispenser I work with people struggling with hearing loss. I am conducting hearing tests, hearing aids fittings and micro-suction under indirect supervision.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Although quite intense and compressed at times, this program allows me to rapidly gain new skills and direct apply them in real world

I have gain greater confidence in my practice, learned how to conduct hearing assessment and hearing aid fitting. I have learned about hearing loss and patient centred care

Program is very well outlined and scheduled allowing me to adjust my work commitments and personal life accordingly in advance.

My employer is very hands on, attentive and creating space for my growth. I feel looked after.

I am receiving substantial amount of support from Aston - the lecturing team encourages questions, makes themselves accessible via e-mail or scheduled 1-on-1.

My qualifications are pushing me to become a better clinician by increasing my knowledge, skills and overall professional attitude.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

We do have frequent trainings with hearing aid manufacturers within my department. Overall Specsavers has a good track record of organising staff nights out, football matches or go-carting events.
