Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

This apprenticeship has been the best decision i have made! It has been the perfect balance between learning and practical work. From day 1, i was supported by mentors, managers and my team who have helped guide me and support me to become confident. My apprenticeship experience has been incredibly positive so far, not just because of the skills ive learned, but because of my mentors and managers at City of Wolverhampton Council who have supported me throughout the journey. They have helped me grow both personally and proffesionally. I am given real responsibilities and trusted to contribute, which has helped build my confidence and pushed me to do my best. I am given regular feedback from my team leader. I am truely grateful of this apprenticeship which will be coming to an end in October where i hope to apply for a job at the City of Wolverhampton Council and continue working here!

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I've really enjoyed my spprenticeship programme so far. I genuinely look forward coming into work and learning something new everyday!

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt to communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues, customers and management. Being apart of a team has developed my team working skill, being able to collaborate with others and support each other. I have definitely gained the confidence to take initiative, make decisions and trust my own judgment (i struggled with before this apprenticeship).

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

My programme is very well organised and structured with 1 study day per week which allows me to do my assignments and webinars. I also have regular milestones and feedback sessions which keeps me on track. The balance between the learning and on the job experience is very effective allowing me to apply my knowledge in the real world.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive a considerable amount of suuport from my employer. From the first day, i've had dedicated mentors and check in meetings to ensure i am on track and comfortable with any challenges i face. My employer has been incredibly supportive throughout the apprenticeship.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

5/5

My training provider is very supportive with regular milestones and feedbacksessions. Always ensuring my mental health is okay and checking in to make sure i stay on track and if i need any help.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The qualificaion has ben instrumental in enhancing my performance. It has provided me with understanding of legislation and practical skills necessary for the role. This allows me approach daily tasks with greater confidence and efficiency.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I have attended a few IRRV forums held in Birmingham where we listen to a speaker talking about the changes and future in revenues and benefits.
