My role was completing registrations alongside training for my apprenticeship and applying what I have learnt and use that in my day-to-day work.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoyed the programme, it allowed me to build my confidence and feel more assertive in my role knowing what I was doing.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes I have learnt new skills such as risk analysis, marketing techniques etc.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

It was extremely structured and I felt supported throughout the programme.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

I recieved a lot of support from my employer, they answered any questions I had and put meetings in place for me to speak up if I needed help and to check in on me.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I recieved a lot of support from my training provider, I felt as though they really cared about the qualification I was completing

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It has given me a better understanding about the background of how a business works and has allowed me to look at things from a different perspective

There were multiple different apprentice activities for me to get involved in alongside completing my work and apprenticeship

Why?

They have always been supportive and tailored all my work to my needs, supporting me when I was unsure and sitting down and providing guidance when I needed it most.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to City of Wolverhampton Council?

I would say to be yourself but most importantly explain the skills and knowledge that you can bring to the role and how together with your knowledge they can help develop that even further
