Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I line manage an oversee a team of 7. This includes an Early help Consultant and 6 Education and family workers. I am responsible for overseeing case and groupwork with children who have low and emerging SEND, whilst supporting the team's professional's development.
I am responsible to lead and co-ordinate on any projects that meet the local first inclusion objectives and as directed by the director of SEND.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have enjoyed the learning, despite juggling this with fulltime work and role.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have further embedded theory and skills into my role. linking theory to practice has supported me to work collaboratively with the team to achieve expectations.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Very well organised from the taught sessions to the one-on-one sessions. The expectations and timescales have always been clear and supported me to drive forward with my workbooks
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer supported me to access some study time- so that the workload felt more manageable. I complete most of the work in my own time just due to the pressure of my role and the need to prioritise tasks.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I received adequate support in relation to my needs. I'm sure this is individualised to each leaner, but I feel the support I received was excellent.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It helps me to rethink strategies and tools used to support me and the team to function and achieve. I hope that way I am able to get the best out of people whilst remining compassionate.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

we plan wellbeing events for the team- 3 times per year. we also have some social events planned at key times of the year such as Christmas.
