Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

At the time of the Apprenticeship I was managing 2 x operational teams delivering an ETE service to YP, Professionals and Parents. I have since changed roles and am now within a Commissioning team commissioning prevention and early help services for YP
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

The first 18 months of the course were not as relevant to my current role or level of experience as a leader and manager. The second half of the course was therefore much more beneficial to me. It was also challenging balancing a FT role alongside a degree level qualification, whilst also being a working mother.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed my understanging of contract law, marketing, project management, research skills and strategic management.

Well structured and clear processes.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Although my manager attended my apprenticeship reviews, that was really the extent of the interest shown as to how I could use my knowledge and skills in my current role. This was the main reason that I wanted to change roles within the organisation.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Great level of support from both tutors and apprenticeship supervisor at my insitution.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

As mentioned above the qualification was not so useful in the role I had at the time of completion but is now much more useful in the role that I have within commissioning. The main reason that I undertook the qualification was to allow me to develop my career by applying for other positions which I have now been successful in doing.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Work experience is important as too is the willingness to undertake further learning and development including recognised qualifications.
